Nissan confirms Colin McRae
|

Nissan Europe has today renewed its contract with Colin McRae. The 1995 World Rally Champion will remain with the Nissan Rally Raid Team, with the aim of achieving a good result on the 2005 Dakar. Nissan has thereby confirmed his trust in the Scottish driver, and will give him the opportunity to be more involved in the development programme surrounding the car.
After the 2004 edition of the Dakar, the Nissan Rally Raid Team wished to continue the relationship it had built up with Colin McRae. After taking two stage wins during his first participation in the legendary African event, the Scottish driver is now determined to make his mark on this hard and demanding category with Nissan.
He will be fully involved in the development programme for the 2005 car, and will take part in all the test sessions planned over the coming months. There is also the possibility that he will participate in the UAE Desert Challenge in October.
Nissan is delighted to continue its collaboration with Colin McRae, which started in November 2003, and will confirm the rest of the driver line-up for the 2005 Dakar as soon as possible.
