Tina Thörner joined the Nissan Rally Raid Team during last Dakar. The 37-year old Swede previously competed in the epic African event in 1999 and 2000, alongside Jutta Kleinschmidt, and she is looking forward to this new challenge.
One of the few women competing in the highest echelons of world motorsport, Tina Thorner has been taking part in the World Rally Championship in 2002, as co-driver to Kenneth Eriksson in a Skoda Octavia WRC. Although her earliest ambitions involved flying, the farmer's daughter from Sweden made her WRC debut in 1986. After graduating in economic studies in 1989, she was asked to co-drive for British driver Louise Aitken-Walker. Since then her career has gone from strength to strength, both in the WRC and in Rally Raids. Although she is realistic about the sacrifices needed to get to the top, Tina loves rallying, which she considers the perfect challenge in Motorsport.
