Nissan Victorious Again At Crandon CORR Event
- Renezeder and Titan Take Sunday Victory, Pro 2 Points Lead -
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 5, 2006)
Nissan continued as a competitive force in Rounds 11 and 12 of the 2006 Championship Off Road Racing (CORR) season when the series returned to the 1.47-mile Crandon International Off Road Raceway in Crandon, Wisconsin. The Borg Warner World Championship Off-Road Races September 2 and 3 marked the emergence of Carl Renezeder and his Nissan Titan-bodied race truck as the CORR Pro 2 championship points leader, and yet another victory for the Titan race truck in Sunday’s Round 12, a total of marks four wins in the last six races.

"To take the Pro 2 points lead with four events left in the 2006 season is flat out amazing," said Renezeder. "Our success in Titan’s first year of competition is a true testament to Nissan and their commitment to CORR."

In Pro Lite, Chad Hord narrowed the championship points gap for his Nissan Frontier-bodied race truck to a mere four points after coming back from a spectacular crash on Saturday. "Carl Renezeder and Chad Hord are well on their way for a Nissan championship sweep this year in Pro 2 and Pro Lite," said Ron Stukenberg, senior manager, Nissan Motorsports marketing and operations. "CORR has proven to be a great proving ground for Nissan Motorsports components and to display the strength of both the Frontier and Titan race trucks."

On Saturday’s Round 11, Renezeder, in his 715-horsepower Nissan Titan-bodied race truck had speed, setting fast lap, but finished 6th after making contact with a slower truck. On Sunday, however, Renezeder and the Titan found victory lane in Round 12, also setting fast lap time and taking the Pro 2 points lead by a narrow margin.

In Saturday’s Round 11 Pro Lite action, Chad Hord suffered a bad flip after a run at the treacherous turn on at Crandon, ending his day. With his crew working through the night to repair the damaged truck and Chad nursing some "racing rheumatism," Sunday’s Round 12 action saw Hord’s return to the podium, with a 3rd place finish, marking his tenth podium in twelve starts. Hord, from Felch, Mich., narrowed the point lead from 11 points to 4 after this event.

CORR returns to southern California for the "Nissan Off Road Nationals," scheduled for September 23 and 24, 2006 at the Chula Vista International Off-Road Raceway in Chula Vista, California
