The Nissan Motor España Works Team with driver Marc Blázquez won the rally, and Nissan has extended its grip on the Manufacturers’ Championship, already achieved last year.

This is the final step in a successful season for Marc Blázquez, who adds the Spanish Cross-country Championship to the F.I.A. International Cup for Bajas title that he won three weeks ago in Portugal.

Starting from fourth position after the previous day’s prologue, the Nissan driver ran with a very clear strategy, allowing him to finish the race first. With a total time of 4h13'10", Blázquez won the first and second special stages, allowing him to get the top of the podium in the round and also the 2006 Championship.

Nissan Motor España completes its third year of participation in Cross-country Rallies; a very fruitful period in which it has taken two F.I.A.

International Cups for Bajas titles, as well as two Spanish Championships for Manufacturers, one Spanish Championship for drivers, one Spanish Championship for codrivers and two Iberian Trophies.

The title achieved is an excellent reward for both the technical and the sporting side of the team that makes Nissan’s motorsport activities possible.

Marc Blázquez: "This has been a very complicated round because to drive in the mud is always very delicate and any mistake can put you out of the track. At the end we have achieved our objective… and we are champions."

* Any World Champion or International Cup winner which is approved by the FIA will be officially certified at the FIA prize giving ceremony held in December. Any driver or title will be recognized as provisional until that time.
