#1 Xanavi NISMO Z has set the pole

#12 Calsonic IMPUL Z and NISMO two Z's could not start in the final due to mechanical troubles
GT LIVE USA - JGTC 2004 All Star / JGTC ALL-STAR Sprint Race Report
California Speedway (Cal., USA) - December 19, 2004
Subsequent to yesterday's JGTC All-Star 200, its second day race event All-Star Sprint was held today, the 19th of December at California Speedway. Day 2 race uses 1.45 miles course, which is only the in-field portion.
As a consequence of JGTC's decision to bring home in Japan the last night ALL-Star 200 argument over on race result and the discussion is being pended, today's race rule has been modified. A sprint race is held followed by a 10-minute qualifying session for each class. The total laps in the race would be 25 with 36.25 miles running length and no driver change during race. Team can choose which driver to be in the car in both the race and qualifying run.
Four Z's, #1-Xanavi NISMO Z( Richard Lyons ), #12-Calsonic IMPUL Z ( Benoit Treluyer ), #3-G'ZOX SSR Hasemi Z ( Toshihiro Kaneishi ), #22-Motul Pitwork Z (Masami Kageyama ) are qualified. #1-Xanavi NISMO Z won two days straight pole, #12-Calsonic IMPUL Z was 3rd,, #22-Motul Pitwok Z and #3-G'ZOX Hamesi Z are 6th and 9th in qualifying respectively.
Post Qualifying, #1 Xanavi NISMO Z, GT-500 Pole Setter, Richard Lyons said,
"To me this course is very bumpy. The qualifying session was kind of short but I always enjoy driving. I loved it. Afternoon race is short as well so I am sure all fans get excited. Our goal is clear.
After formation laps the main race started in a rolling style. Pole setter #1-Xanavi NISMO Z was not able to enter the race because of the electrical problem. Also, #12-Calsonic IMPUL Z had engine trouble and #22-Motul Pitwork Z with continuing power steering failure could not make the starting grids resulting three Z's out of competition. Only #3-G'ZOX SSR Hasemi Z (Kaneishi) was running in the race and checkered at 5th place.
This first-ever JGTC race event held in the US promoted a total number of 60,000 people through 2-day with much excitement and prosperity.
Toshihiro Kaneishi, Driver -#3- G'ZOX Hamesi Z said,
"The course width is narrow so I drove cautiously not damaging the car. In a first half of the race I was driving behind #100 NSX and one GT300 car spun right in front of me that was really close to crash. With this incident my pace slightly slowed down and therefore finished as it is. The issue is still under dispute and not knowing the concrete resolution, I look forward to the once announced victory for our team is set to be true"
Hiroshi Degawa, NISMO Team Director said,
"I was planning to win the race because Richard got the second pole for our team. But #1 car had an electrical trouble during interval and the engine could not be started. #22 car as well sufferred from a continuous power steering trouble from yesterday so took the safe side and decided not running in the race. I feel terribly sorry for all fans came to today's race. This is really unfortunate"
