The 3rd round of the CTCC saw a return to the Shanghai F1 circuit, where the opening round of the season was also held. Conditions on 7/25 were dire, with a high of 32 degrees Celsius and a track temperature that reached 42 degrees. At 16:10, with the sun steadily setting, the official qualifying session began.

The movement to level performance is continuing in this year's CTCC, so every car on the grid has a chance. The Tiida's rivals have become more and more powerful, showing rapid improvements both in terms of technology and driver ability.

However, when it comes right down to it, a veteran driver with experience and keen competitive instincts is what you need to win. After the initial time attack, the #1 Tiida returned to the pits to cool down its tyres, then posted the top time in the final stages of the qualifying session.

As the movement towards equal performance continues, opportunities to pass other cars during the race have become few and far between. Because of this, where a driver places in qualifying has become even more important than before. Having nabbed pole position, Guo Haisheng in the #1 Tiida understands this only too well.

Before the race gets underway, the mechanics are fully occupied making final preparations on the cars in the pit. The DongFeng NISSAN Ghia team mechanics have been working with the Tiida for four years, so they skillfully manipulate their tools without getting flustered.

On 7/26, the day of the race, the humidity was unusually low for an early summer's day in Shanghai. The strong sunlight was more akin to a European summer. On a day like this, victory will surely be decided by tyre management during the race.

As the well-known NISSAN fans began to paint the stands red, Guo Haisheng in the #1 Tiida moved his machine onto pole position and waited for the start. His teammate Lin Lifeng in the #2 car started from sixth on the grid.

Starting from pole position, Guo in the #1 car held off the #5 VW Polo for multiple laps, but on lap 9 was no longer able to maintain his gap and lost the top position.

However, after preserving his tyres and waiting for a chance to make his move, Guo and the #1 Tiida regained the top spot on lap 21. He maintained his lead until the finish for his first victory of the season.

Lin finished the race in third position, but subsequent 15-second penalties were meted out for both Guo and the 2nd-placed KIA driver. Because of this, Lin rose to 2nd, giving the Tiida a 1-2 finish.
