The stage for the final round of this season's FIA GT1 World Championship was San Luis, Argentina. The circuit is a semi-permanent track that encircles the scenic Lake Potrero de los Funes.

At 6.270km, the circuit is the longest used in this year's championship, and also features the most corners, with 22 - a far cry from the track used last time out in Beijing.

In contrast with the beautiful scenery, the Argentinian track is renowned for being a fast and challenging course with numerous undulations, plenty of high-speed corners and many overtaking opportunities - attributes that should, in theory, suit the Nissan GT-R.

Michael Krumm(centre), who headed to this final round leading the Driver's championship, said, “San Luis is an exciting track to drive and is challenging. We had gained three victories so far, and it would be nice to win another one - especially this one to secure the title”

GT-Rs made a great start to the final round of the season, as all four made it through to the final eight shootout in the Qualifying session.

In the Qualifying Race, the #20 and #21 GT-Rs were 4th and 5th after the opening lap. Later, the #21 car got delayed in the pits and finished the race in 7th, but the #20 machine was able to comfortably hold on to fourth place.

However, Peter Dumbreck in the #22 GT-R was hit by a Ford GT in a heavy collision that forced him into the pits after his car incurred body damage.
8/15
Meanwhile, the #23 GT-R started from pole. The German driver duo knew that any finish of fourth or above would secure them the title after their championship rivals, the #8 Aston Martin, was ruled out of both of the weekend's races after a heavy crash in Pre-Qualifying.
9/15
Lucas Luhr, who drove the second half of the race, kept calm and followed advice from the team through the radio, running steadily to finish the Qualifying Race in 2nd place. At that moment, the 2011 GT1 Driver's title went to Krumm and Luhr.

This Argentine round had a Nissan 370Z as Safety Car. Throughout this season, a number of different Nissan vehicles have served as official cars.
11/15
And onto the final Championship Race of the season, where the #23 GT-R lined up second on the grid, targeting victory. However just after the start, there was a huge accident involving five cars. The #23 and #21 GT-Rs were involved and were both forced to retire.
12/15
The #22 started from 15th on the grid and moved up to 4th due to the accident. It then took over the top spot after its pit stop, but race stewards issued a drive through penalty as the car was deemed to have gained track position whilst the race was under safety conditions.
13/15
The #20 GT-R started from 4th, but fell to 12th due to the chaos at the start, though climbed back up to 7th after its pit stop. The car then continued its recovery and finished the race in 4th, the highest among the GT-Rs.
14/15
Krumm, delighted at winning the Driver's title, said, “Even when the tracks weren't so favourable, we were still able to put in solid performances with the GT-R, so thanks to Nissan for giving us such an amazing car.”
15/15
JRM Racing fell just short of the GT1 Team's title, taking 2nd place in the series, just 3 points adrift of the winners. The team took a total of four victories, making it a very fruitful season.
